Rose McGovern is the Program Manager for the UCLA Burkle Center for International Relations. Before joining the Burkle Center, Rose worked for the Australian Electoral Commission in Cambodia and Thailand, developing a capacity development program for governance practitioners working in post-conflict contexts and emerging democracies. She also conducted a review of the World Bank’s decentralization initiative in Cambodia. Prior to moving to Southeast Asia, Rose served as the East Asia & the Pacific Analyst at the World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C. She has also worked on civil society development and humanitarian relief projects for numerous international non-profit organizations, including Innovations in Civic Participation and Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research International.
Rose holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Conflict Management from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Vermont. She is a former Peace Corps Bangladesh volunteer.
